Regulator warns about unauthorised investment firms
The Financial Regulator has issued a warning about a number of investment firms operating in Ireland without authorisation.
The regulator says MJM Investments, Montgomery Blake & Associates and The Morgan Stern Group have been providing services to Irish customers without official sanction.
It is a criminal offence for an investment firm to operate in Ireland without approval from the regulator.
Clients of such firms are not entitled to compensation from the Investor Compensation Scheme if anything happens to their money.
