Nortel's Olympics sponsorship ends
Nortel, one of the world’s largest producers of telephone equipment, is no longer a sponsor of the London 2012 Games, Olympic organisers have announced.
The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games has ended its sponsorship ties with Nortel, which has been replaced as the official network infrastructure supporter by Cisco.
London 2012 chief executive Paul Deighton said the fixed deadline towards the Olympics and Nortel’s decision to sell some of its wireless assets meant it was no longer a match.
