NSAI: Efficiency will combat recession

The head of the National Standards Authority is urging companies to use efficiency as a means of combating the recession.

The NSAI helps companies implement management standards.

According to the authority's CEO Maurice Buckley rigorous standards bring results.

He said this applies in both the public and private sectors.

Mr Buckley said: "We do this with private business in Ireland and it is done internationally.

"The exact same process can be used in the private sector as well.

"We have applied it in our own organisation and other organisations can use the same or similar methodology to achieve those efficiencies."
