UK: John Lewis pleased with sales performance

Department store chain John Lewis today said it achieved a “strong performance” during one of the busiest weeks of its trading year.

The first full week of its clearance saw sales of £61.5m (€77m), a fall of 1.3% on a year earlier but up 9.7% on the same week two years ago.
