The board of Glanbia has today elected Liam Herlihy as chairman of the company.

The board of Glanbia has today elected Liam Herlihy as chairman of the company.

Herlihy succeeds Michael Walsh, who has retired as chairman and director of the company.

Herlihy, who farms at Tallow, Co Waterford, has been vice chairman of the board since 2001. He has also been appointed chairman of Glanbia Co-operative Society Limited.

The board also elected John Fitzgerald as vice-chairman in succession to Herlihy. He has also been appointed vice-chairman of Glanbia Co-operative Society Limited. Mr Fitzgerald farms at Kilmeaden, Co Waterford.

Victor Quinlan continues in his role as vice-chairman of the board.

Glanbia also announced the appointment of two new non-executive directors, Anthony O’Connor and Robert Prendergast, and the retirement of Eamon Power as a director.

O’Connor and Prendergast are both farmers and directors of Glanbia Co-operative Society Limited.
