Merger threat to Royal Mail

A new threat to Royal Mail emeged today after a deal was announced to merge two fims responsible for handling 270 million items of UK mail a year.

European buy-out specialist Candover will pay £349m (€641.9m) for DX Services, which is a document handling specialist, and offer an undisclosed sum for Secure Mail Services, which delivers valuable items such as credit cards.
