Stationery stores this afternoon defended the sale of back-to-school items carrying the Playboy logo, following an outcry from the National Parents Council.

Notebooks, pencil-cases and folders bearing the Heffner empire's bunny motif are on sale in stores around the country.

General Manager of Eason's Martin Black said it was not up to stores to censor what went on the shelves: “We would certainly look at the products, but to be fair it has been selling very well and we have to offer customers choice.”
