ISEQ edges higher in morning trading
The ISEQ index has edged slightly higher in early trading today, climbing 3.12 in mid-morning to 6,100.05.
Banking shares have been mixed. Allied Irish Bank has fared well, climbing 16c to €15.80 today while Bank of Ireland shares climbed 3c higher to €12.40.
But Anglo Irish Bank shares have fallen 5c to €20 while Irish Life & Permanent shares have slipped 10c to €14.
Elsewhere construction stocks have been on the rise on the day a study by the ESRI and the mortgage firm IIB Homeloans showed consumer confidence in the property market is high.
CRH shares are 15c higher at €20.57 today while Grafton shares are 14c higher at €9.39. Kingspan shares are 1c higher at €9.70.
Meanwhile pharmaceutical group Elan has seen its share price fall 14c to €5.50 today while business support services group DCC has fallen 34c to €17.10.
The most traded shares today are CRH, Bank of Ireland, Anglo Irish Bank, AIB and Jury's.
