Cork to get new landmark
Cork is to get a new landmark — a €500,000 gift from a construction firm for the support it has received from the people of the city for its building projects, the Evening Echo reports.
Howard Holdings, a firm headed by Ballydehob native Greg Coughlan, has commissioned a 50ft-high bronze sculpture for Lapp’s Quay, where it is building €200 million-worth of office space and a new hotel.
