Telecom operator Esat BT and communications networks company Avaya have signed an agreement that will see Esat BT provide the full portfolio of Avaya's communications systems and applications to its business customers.

Firms ranging in size from Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to multinationals will be able reduce the cost and improve the effectiveness of operating voice systems.

Esat BT recently partnered with NEC and sees the link with Avaya as an avenue to offering converged voice, video and data systems.

Welcoming the agreement with Avaya, Esat BT's head of converged solutions, Derek Collins said: "This agreement fits perfectly with Esat BT's vision of providing customers with the ability to gain secure access to the right data and systems at any time, at any place and over any device."

John Sharpe, Sales Director at Avaya, said: "By working with Esat BT, we now have an excellent channel to market for our products and a strong business partner."
