Ahern discusses Spam scourge with US team

The Minister for Communications has said there is an urgent need for international co-operation to end "spam," unwanted texts and emails.

Speaking to a team from the US congress, Dermot Ahern has said countries need to work together in a business friendly and effective way to end the scourge.

He said both sides of the Atlantic are developing tougher sanctions against spam, and commended the congress for the United States' strong lead in tackling the problem.
