AT&T Wireless up for sale
The third largest wireless network in the US , AT&T Wireless, yesterday formally put itself up for sale.
AT&T Wireless brought forward the publication of its fourth-quarter results after days of reports in the American media suggesting it was engaged in talks with possible buyers.
It is speculated that Rival American network Cingular Wireless and Japan's NTT DoCoMo have outlined bids for the company.
UK Vodafone has also been named as one of the companies that could become involved in a bidding war.
AT&T Wireless holds a 14.7% market share in the US with a large proportion of the lucrative business customer base.
