Bord Bia expects good year for food sector
The Irish Food Board has predicted that 2004 will be a good year for the prepared food sector.
Last year exports from the sector fell by 5% to €1.52bn.
This was blamed on currency fluctuations, increased competition from European competitors and reduced prices.
However Bord Bia’s chief executive Michael Duffy said today he expects the trend to be reversed this year.
