McDonald’s Corporation had its corporate credit ratings downgraded by Standard and Poor’s Ratings Services, which cited tough domestic competition, a fast-food industry slump and sluggish growth overseas.

The credit agency says that while McDonald’s remains dominant in the fast-food business, its new management faces significant challenges in trying to jump-start stalled sales.
