Paris shares higher at midday

Share prices in Paris are slightly higher at midday, continuing to drift as investors struggle to find any real direction ahead of strategic announcements due later this week, with Credit Lyonnais leading the market on continuing speculation of a bidding war among its core shareholders, dealers said.

Share prices in Paris are slightly higher at midday, continuing to drift as investors struggle to find any real direction ahead of strategic announcements due later this week, with Credit Lyonnais leading the market on continuing speculation of a bidding war among its core shareholders, dealers said.

At 12.09 pm (11.09pm Irish time), the CAC-40 index was up 25.14 points at 3,351.79.

Volume was €667m.

On the Matif, November CAC-40 futures were 39 points higher at 3,360.

The euro stood at 0.9909/$14 compared with 0.9933/36 in late trading Friday.
