Datalex wins contract with Saudi Airlines

Irish company Datalex has signed a major technology deal with Saudi Arabian Airlines, one of the largest airlines in the Middle East, carrying 13 million passengers a year.

"It is very encouraging to see the world's leading airlines, including Saudi Arabian Airlines, actively pursuing their e-commerce strategies and opening up new distribution channels to interact with their customers," said Neil Beck, CEO Datalex.

The agreement, which is Datalex's first major contract in the Middle East, represents the beginning of an initiative by Datalex in this market.

The company has recently appointed Altar in Turkey, as value added reseller of Datalex's technology and are reviewing other distributor relationships throughout the rest of the Middle East.

Saudi Arabian Airlines has contracted Datalex to develop an internet booking engine to connect to its own SARS reservation system using the latest version of the Datalex BookIt! CONSUMER booking engine and BookIt! MATRIX integration platform.

The booking engine provides support for Arabic, which is a critical requirement for this market.
