Marks and Spencers not to cut Irish jobs

Marks and Spencers said all jobs in Irish stores are safe despite the lay-off of 4000 staff across Europe.

A spokesperson for the company here, said the Irish branches are continuing to be profitable and are not under threat.

However, the troubled chain is shedding 1000 jobs in Britain and pulling out of some other European countries.
