Sluggish start to insolvency legislation

The new Insolvency Service of Ireland has attracted plenty of criticism over the sluggish start to the new debt settlement and bankrupcy regime.

However, the body fought back, producing a series of measures designed to assist the country’s huge army of debtors. It is battling on a number of fronts, raising its communications game while pushing through with Government support, a series of cuts in fees in order to coax more financially struggling people into active engagement with the service and with their creditors.
