Kerry Airport sees 22% rise on Dublin route
According to Kerry Airport, a commitment to maintain the low-cost fare of €44 each way, coupled with the reduction in travelling time compared to other modes of transport, has helped boost public confidence in the route.
Kerry Airport chairman Denis Cregan welcomed the steady rise in the number of passengers flying between Kerry and Dublin, “with a projected 12-month increase in 2013 of 7% compared to 2012,” he said.
Connections to airports in the US have also increased with volumes nearly doubling over the 10-month period, Jan to Oct 2013.
Meanwhile, Kerry Airport will be closed on Christmas Day while there will be reduced operating hours on St Stephen’s Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Ryanair will operate extra flights on the following dates: London/Luton on the Dec 23 and Dec 30 and on Jan 6. London/ Stansted on Dec 21 and 28 and Jan 4.
The Aer Lingus Kerry to Dublin service and the Ryanair Kerry/ Frankfurt Hahn service will operate as normal at Christmas.
