Numbers employed at award -winning animation studio, Brown Bag Films have almost doubled as the company confirmed its most successful year with pre-tax profits of €1.14m in 2012.

The creator of Disney series Doc McStuffins returned to profit in 2012 after revenues across the group rose 82% from €9.6m to €17.5m.

The accounts just filed by Brown Bag Films Ltd show the firm recorded a pre-tax profit of €1.14m following a pre-tax loss of €748,807 in 2011. The company is recruiting animation and production staff with a company spokeswoman confirming yesterday the numbers employed by the group now total 140.
