Motorists are set to be hit with a 10c price increase for toll road usage from the beginning of next year, in line with rising inflation.

Although unconfirmed, a National Roads Authority (NRA) spokesperson said the increase was “more than likely”, as tolls were governed by movement in the monthly consumer price index, published by the CSO.

It would mean that the average price for toll road usage would go from €1.80 to €1.90 as of the beginning of January.
