Tubridy’s firm see profits rise by 75%
Accounts just filed by the Late Late Show host’s firm, Tuttle Productions Ltd to the Companies Registration Office, show the firm’s accumulated profits increased from €34,396 to €60,446 in the 12 months to the end of August last year.
The figures show that the company’s cash pile also increased by 32% from €89,140 to €117,806.
Earlier this month, the Dubliner said he is “more than willing to do my bit” in the wake of €25m cutbacks announced for RTÉ.
Figures released by RTÉ last year show that the 37-year old earned €519,667 from RTÉ in 2009 — the third highest amount behind Pat Kenny.
The 2FM presenter – who is not an RTÉ staff member, but a contractor — has already incurred paycuts and Mr Tubridy said earlier this month: “What I do think is fair is that I am getting a cut, and rightly so... That’s the real world... I don’t have a problem with it so it’s not an issue for me.”
The figures show that Tuttle Productions Ltd last year paid €1,005 in corporation tax and paid no corporation tax in 2010.
The figures show that the company paid an additional €38,382 in VAT/ PAYE/PRSI in 2011.
Separate accounts lodged by the media firm operated by another RTÉ high-earner, Eamon Dunphy show that it increased its accumulated profits by 20% from €371,130 to €447,771 in the 12 months to the end of December 2010.
Accounts lodged by MAC Consultants Ltd show the firm’s total shareholder funds rose from €672,399 to €749,040.
It paid corporation tax of €3,519 in 2010 up from €1,827 in 2009. The firm paid an additional €36,288 in VAT/PAYE/ PRSI.
The figures show that €54,292 was repaid by the company to the company’s two directors, Eamon Dunphy and Timothy Dunphy with €4,397 advanced from directors.
According to RTÉ, Mr Dunphy sustained the largest cut of RTÉ’s top 10 with his 2008 earnings of €328,051 dropping to €225,485 in 2009.
