Revenue deal saves 110 Kinsale jobs
In a statement released to the Irish Examiner, a company spokesperson said they had reached a successful resolution with the Revenue Commissioners on an outstanding tax issue.
“The Blue Haven Collection has in conjunction with Revenue reached a successful resolution to a legacy tax issue.
“Both parties engaged in constructive negotiations over the last two weeks and the Blue Haven Collection, which employs approximately 110 people across a range of tourism and hospitality businesses, now looks forward to the start of what promises to be a busy tourism season in the Kinsale and Cork region,” the spokesperson said.
The Revenue Commissioners had petitioned the courts for winding-up orders against three companies within the Blue Haven Collection, following the discovery of an outstanding tax issue.
The Court proceedings, which had been scheduled for Mar 26, will now be struck out.
Blue Haven Collection is the largest hospitality employer in Kinsale. The collection has a number of businesses in Kinsale, ranging from restaurants and bars to a luxury car hire service.
The companies in the group include Hamlets cafe bar, Old Bank Town House, Blue Haven Food, Studio Blue Nightclub, the Blue Haven Cookery School, and Munster Bentley Hire.
The Blue Haven Food Company has also recently been awarded an innovation award for its developments in the food and drink industry.
The food company won an award at the SFA National Business Awards at Trinity College in Dublin.
