China will continue to invest in eurozone government debt, said Chinese central bank governor Zhou Xiaochuan, adding that Beijing remains confident in the euro and in the ability of eurozone members to solve their debt problems.

In the financial sector, Permanent TSB and Bank of Ireland have been cleared by the Central Bank to offer mortgages whereby the negative equity from one loan is tacked onto a new mortgage for a new property, thereby allowing individuals to move. Bank of Ireland dropped 0.3c to 12.6c.
