REGIONAL newspaper publisher Celtic Media Group returned to profitability in 2009, according to latest accounts filed with the CompaniesOffice.

The group — which owns and publishes such titles as the Meath Chronicle, the Anglo-Celt and the Westmeath & Offaly Independent — posted a pre-tax profit of €380,903 in 2009.

After tax, the group’s profit stood at €264,858 for the year.
