First impressions good for business, shopper survey finds

FIRST impressions given by a business and its personnel play a greater role in winning customers than many in commercial life realise.

In a recent survey of Irish businesses that looked at this issue, it emerged almost 70% of the initial impression formed about a business can be linked directly to behaviour and experiences not directly connected with the company’s product or service.

The “mystery shopper” survey, carried out by MC Image Management, discovered telephone technique, dress code and proper grooming play a vital role in creating lasting impressions of the company.
