WordSpreads pre-tax loss hits €440k for six months

DUBLIN-based spread trader WorldSpreads yesterday reported a pre-tax loss in the first half of €440,000.

Covering the six months to end September 2010, the group said the figure contrasted with a profit of €1.67m in the same period in 2009.

It blamed heavy spending on building up critical infrastructure as well as marketing support for the group’s move into losses in the first half year’s trading.
