Seafood accolade for Donegal firm

Donegal: Salmon farming company, Marine Harvest Ireland (MHI), has been named as Seafood Exporter of the Year 2010 by the Irish Exporters Association.

MHI has had a very successful year, with Irish salmon farming enjoying a 40% sales boost in 2009 to farm gate income of €65m, according to figures from An Bord Iascaigh Mhara.

Much of this growth was due to price increases and the sector’s marketing efforts.
