Aer Lingus expands Shannon/Heathrow
Shannon: Aer Lingus is expanding its high-profile Shannon to Heathrow service almost two years after pulling flights completely.
The airline closed the lucrative link in August 2007 in favour of a London-Belfast route, only to re-instate it in March.
The company said it would run a third daily flight from the Co Clare hub from October.
Enda Corneille, Aer Lingus corporate affairs director, said the expansion reflected strong demand from the region.
“The increased frequency will connect Shannon and London Heathrow three times daily,” he said.
