Food firm chiefs to speak at conference

TWO of the country’s leading food company chief executives, Owen Killian of IAWS and John Moloney of Glanbia, will be among the speakers at the Agricultural Science Association (ASA) annual conference in Trim, Co Meath, on September 14.

Minister Mary Coughlan will open the conference, which Professor Paddy Cunningham, Chief Scientific Adviser to the Government, will also address.

Rosario Bento Pais, a senior member of EU Commissioner Mariann Fischer Boel’s cabinet and Neil Parish, chairman, Agriculture Committee, European Parliament, will address EU and international agri-food issues. The afternoon session is devoted to a farmer and industry forum.
