Budget airline plans to ground seven aircraft in response to airport charges

RYANAIR plans to ground nearly a fifth of its aircraft at London’s Stansted Airport over the winter months.

The carrier said the move was in response to a doubling of airport charges making it impossible for it to make money on some routes.

The airline said it will ground seven of its 40 aircraft at Stansted and is also planning to cut capacity on some European routes.
