Tax anomalies hitting farmers: IAVI

A NUMBER of tax anomalies are causing hardship for many farmers and landowners, according to John Dawson, president of the Irish Auctioneers and Valuers Institute.

“These anomalies are causing undue grief for widows, farmers’ children and retiring couples.

“In fact, they discriminate against the farming family and are a major disincentive for a son or daughter to start farming,” he said.
