Alltracel teams up with Elmarco
Alltracel's main expertise is in the wound care, oral care and cardiovascular health markets. Its main product is its 'm-doc' technology, which stops bleeding.
Earlier this year, the company developed a nano-fibre based delivery system for m-doc — the new joint venture is aimed at bringing this to market.
The agreement with Elmarco covers nano-fibre based technologies and products in the professional and consumer wound care markets as well as other specialist medical-related markets. It will also deal with the commercialisation of Elmarco's patented 'Nanospider' technology solutions. The joint venture will be EU-based and is expected to be operational by September.
“The formation of this joint venture with Elmarco is the natural conclusion of a year-long successful R&D collaboration combined with an escalating customer interest in nanofibre based woundcare systems,” according to Alltracel chief executive, Tony Richardson.
“We view this as being a logical extension of our co-operation, following outstanding results during our mutual development,” added Elmarco chief executive, Ladislav Mares, yesterday.
Earlier this month, Alltracel reported a 19% year-on-year rise in second quarter revenues to €5.1 million — pointing to strong re-order levels across its wound care and oral care divisions and “significant progress” in the cardiovascular health area as key drivers of growth.
Last month, Alltracel's Chinese-based marketing partner — Yunnan Baiyao — secured approval for the first in a range of products featuring m-doc technology, which should see further growth at the company.
