Market advances in light trading

THE Irish market was subdued yesterday with light share volumes traded. The ISEQ index advanced 21.50 to close the session at 5341.51 points.

Construction and building materials group Heiton Group soared €1.40 to €6.70. Grafton Group fell 7c to €6.43 while Kingspan added 9c to €4.89. CRH dropped 20c to €17.29. In the food sector, IAWS Group gained 25c to €10.00, Greencore edged 1c higher to €3.11 while Kerry Group fell 18c to €17.12. Waterford Wedgwood’s woes continued as the stock lost further ground to close at 15.3c. Another significant mover was DCC, firming 15c to a new 52-week high of €14.10.
