French stocks including Sanofi-Aventis declined as Air Liquide advanced.

French stocks down

Sanofi fell after saying it’s suing Novopharm for alleged patent infringement. Air Liquide rose after China’s Anshan Iron & Steel Group Corp. agreed to buy three of the company’s three air separation units.

The CAC 40 Index slid 0.63, or less than 0.1%, to 4048.55 in Paris.
