Estonia has clear path to adopt euro

Estonia faces no obstacles to prevent it from adopting the euro at the earliest possible moment, possibly with Lithuania and Slovenia, European Union Monetary Affairs Commissioner Joaquin Almunia said.

Estonia “is well prepared to join the euro as soon as possible, which means Jan. 1, 2007,” Almunia, 56, said at a press conference today in the Estonian capital of Tallinn.
