Public services need a dose of private reality

DONEGAL-BORN Gerry Robinson, who was a key speaker at the annual Irish Management Institute conference, accused government departments in Britain of being obsessed with strategy, but incapable of making decisions to implement it.

He was quick to point out that, though Irish, he had little or no knowledge of practices in Ireland.

However he wasn’t short of opinions when asked what could be done about the health service and our State services generally.
