US president Donald Trump vowed Tuesday to keep up his campaign of âswift and unrelenting actionâ in reorienting the nationâs economy, immigration and foreign policy in an unyielding address before the US Congress that left Democratic legislators to register their dissent with stone faces, placards calling out âlies,â and one legislatorâs ejection.
Mr Trumpâs speech was the latest marker in his takeover of the nationâs capital, where the Republican-led House and Senate have done little to restrain the president as he and his allies work to slash the size of the federal government and remake Americaâs place in the world.
