Cutting foreign aid spending is bad for Britain’s reputation and makes it more difficult for the UK Prime Minister to bring the world together to tackle key issues, a former government minister has said.

Former UK international development secretary Andrew Mitchell claimed the foreign aid guarantee to spend 0.7% of national income was a small amount of money that had a “great” impact.
