The father of a 14-year-old girl who killed herself after being bullied online said that criminal charges should be brought against the social networking site.

The father of a 14-year-old girl who killed herself after being bullied online said that criminal charges should be brought against the social networking site.

Hannah Smith from Leicestershire was targeted by trolls on ask.fm.

Her dad David has told the Daily Mirror in England that their Prime Minister should act.

"If David Cameron was sitting here now I would want to know why he hasn't done something against this because modern technology has gone on but the laws are still the same."

David Cameron said that his heart goes out to the family of Hannah Smith - the teenager who took her life after being bullied online.

The Prime Minister sent a clear message to the owners of the Latvian based site.

"The peopls that operate these websites have got to step up to the plate and show some responsibility in the way that they run these websites," he said.

"Second point is just because someone does something online it doesn't mean they are above the law."
