Dog has death sentence commuted to life in prison
An aggressive dog in the US has had his death sentence changed to life in prison.
Chief, a wolf-dog hybrid, is to be a guard dog at Louisiana’s maximum security prison after Deputy Warden Bruce Dodd read about the poorly behaved pooch and decided he could do a job at the jail.
Chief was sentenced to death after his neighbours testified against the four-legged friend, claiming he would regularly escape from his home and terrorise them.
District Judge James Best has signed an order turning the canine over to the prison system, and he will work at the Louisiana State Penitentiary.
