An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale has hit the Tibetan region of northwest China, according to the state news agency.

An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale has hit the Tibetan region of northwest China, according to the state news agency.

It is not yet known if there were any casualties or damage after the tremor in Nangqian county.

It is the same region hit by a 7.1 magnitude quake last year, in which nearly 3,000 people died.
