Venezuela issues first driving suspension
Venezuela has issued its first ever driving suspension.
The country is known for being car-friendly, with extremely low gasoline prices and little need for highway rules but now a bus driver has been banned from the roads for a year.
Ramon Parra, 41, was suspended for speeding excessively in an overcrowded bus that was missing one of its rear wheels.
National police chief Luis Fernandez said: "It is important to emphasise that this is a totally new act; for the first time in Venezuela we are suspending a driving license, for 12 consecutive months."
