Kidnapped girl found in New Zealand
Police found a kidnapped five-year-old girl alive and well, officers said today.
Cina Ma was snatched from the footpath outside her home in Wellington, New Zealand, on Monday.
Inquiry head Detective Inspector Steve Wood says the little girl, nicknamed Xin Xin, was found hidden in a cupboard of a house just a few streets from the family home where she was abducted.
He told reporters Xin Xin is now safe and back in the care of her family. The case has dominated national headlines all week.
He said a Chinese national aged 25 was arrested and was so far charged with assault, adding more charges are expected to be laid within days.
