Two arrested on suspicion of involvement in Mumbai blast
Nepal police have arrested two Pakistanis they believe may have links with this week’s train bombings in Mumbai.
They were arrested at a hotel in Kathmandu on Tuesday in connection with the seizure of RDX explosives in 2001.
The two men appeared today before Kathmandu District Court judge Mohan Bhattarai, who ordered them to be held in custody for five days pending further investigations.
Police official Dhak Bahadur Karki said Gulam Hussein Chimma, 53, of Lahore, and Aftab Muhaddin Siddhiqui, 56, of Karachi, were held in connection with the seizure of RDX explosives in 2001 in Kathmandu.
Other police officials said they were also investigating if these suspects have any links to Tuesday’s bombings in Mumbai that killed 200 people.
