150 hurt in Israel train crash
A train struck a utility truck in central Israel today, causing a locomotive and two carriages to overturn and injuring 150 people, according to television reports.
Channel 2 TV reported there were 150 casualties, but police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld had no immediate information on the number of wounded or dead.
A witness told Channel 2 TV that efforts were made to alert the train to stop, but it struck the truck at full speed.
Rescue services were on their way to the scene.
