Maxine Carr is to be prosecuted for benefit fraud and lying in applications for jobs at a primary school in Soham, the British Crown Prosecution Service said today.

The CPS said it had decided to prosecute Carr “on 12 counts of deception and obtaining pecuniary advantage” between 1996 and 2002.

A CPS spokesman said: “Two charges relate to lies made on her application for posts at St Andrew’s Church of England Primary School in Soham.”

The remaining charges cover various fraudulent benefit claims and three other cases of false job applications.
