Murder probe launched after London shop worker stabbed
A murder investigation has been launched after a shop employee was stabbed to death in broad daylight today.
The victim, in his 60s, suffered multiple stab wounds after the attack outside the Rose and Hollis picture framing shop in north London.
It is thought that a man entered the premises, spoke briefly with the victim and then carried out the assault at the door to the Upper Holloway business.
The attacker was restrained and held down by a number of members of the public - including other employees at the business, Scotland Yard said.
A man aged 54 was arrested and is in custody at Islington police station.
A Yard spokesman said: “We are keeping an open mind regarding any motive at this early stage.”
A post mortem examination began tonight at St Pancras mortuary.
