British police, investigating allegations of child abuse against TV host Matthew Kelly, are to fly to Sri Lanka.

British police, investigating allegations of child abuse against TV host Matthew Kelly, are to fly to Sri Lanka.

The 52-year-old’s holiday home near the capital Colombo was raided on January 18 by local police who carried away 54 videos and a computer.

The Stars in Their Eyes host, who lives in West London, was arrested in Britain earlier this month over allegations of sexual abuse of boys in the 1970s.

He has not been charged and has strongly denied the allegations.

Kelly was not in Sri Lanka during the raid in Pamunugama, a coastal village 13 miles north of Colombo. He has not been charged by Sri Lankan police.

Harendra de Silva, head of the country’s National Child Protection Authority, said: “We have sent a report to Britain about the incident and investigations so far. We expect a team from there shortly.”
