Two Israeli soldiers wounded in explosion at Lebanon border

Two Israeli soldiers have been injured, one seriously, in an explosion at the northern border with Lebanon.

Their armoured personnel carrier was patrolling the western section of a security fence when it ran over the bomb near Zarit.

Lebanese security officials say Israeli troops went on alert and put helicopters in the air after the blast.

Timur Goksel, a spokesman for a UN peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon, says the United Nations is aware of an explosion at the border and is investigating.

There was no immediate comment from the Lebanese-based Hezbollah group, which has attacked Israel in the past.
